eCycling (electronic recycling) in Cottage Grove

CRT Ban - Its the Law!
It is now illegal in Minnesota to place computer monitors and televisions in the trash.

MN State Statute 115A.9565
Effective July 1, 2006, a person may not place in mixed municipal solid waste an electronic product containing a cathode-ray tube. A Cathode-Ray Tube (CRT) is the display device used in most computer monitors and televisions.

Recycling Electronics

Computer Monitors and Televisions contain lead and other heavy metals. July 1, 2006 they cannot be disposed of as garbage and must be recycled.

You can also recycle many other electronic items, including computer peripherals (mouse, keyboard, cables, printer, scanner, speakers, etc.), cell phones, hand-held devices, photocopiers, fax machines, stereos, VCRs, and DVD recorders and players.
